Do you look after someone at home?  Maybe they need your support due to disability, long-term illness, mental health problems or the effects of old age or substance misuse.  If you provide regular care or support to  a relative or friend who couldn’t manage without your help, you are a carer.  Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource works with all individuals who have a caring role for an adult or child and provide a range of services.  Contact them to find out what they can offer you.

Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Mind work to help people with mental health problems to become more equal, active, independent and healthy citizens through the provision of short, medium and long term support, information and advocacy.

We are open to the public on Mondays (except Bank Holidays) 12.30 - 3.30pm at Whitby Evangelical Church, Skinner Street, Whitby, and on Fridays (except Bank Holidays) 12.30 - 3.30pm at Queen Street Methodist Central Hall, Queen Street, Scarborough.

Alzheimer’s Society Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale

Alzheimer’s Society offers support and information to anyone with dementia, their carers, families and friends. We run support groups, information sessions, Memory Cafés and luncheon clubs. Dementia Support Workers can visit you at home to talk through any concerns. We run a Befriending service to enable people with dementia to continue a leisure activity and well-being activities such as Singing for the Brain.
