A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment we use for taking blood tests.
Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems will still get one but where your clinician recommends it’s safe to do so, we may be in touch with you to ask you to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.
Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.
If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.
Thank you for your understanding.
Update 23rd September 2021 We have invited all children aged 2-3 years and at risk children between the ages of 4 and 17 to book their flu vaccine. If you haven't booked an appointment for your child please do so as soon as possible.
Our Flu Clinics will be held on Saturday 23rd October and Saturday 6th November providing there are no further changes to our delivery supply. All eligible patients will receive an invitation letter in the week beginning 4th October with further details including what to do if you are unable to attend the Saturday Clinics.
Update 23rd September 2021. To date 4998 (82.7% of our total patient population) of our patients have received their first vaccination with 4750 (78.6% of our total population) of our patients also having received their second vaccination. We are extremely grateful to our staff and volunteers for enabling this to happen. Please note that although Clinics take place at Pickering Surgery it is our staff who invite patients, book their appointments, and then vaccinate and provide the administration when you are seen at Pickering Surgery.
Booster programme details - we are now booking eligible patients for their booster dose who had their second vaccine more than six months ago. Please contact the Surgery if you fall into this category. To check if you are eligible for a booster vaccine please click here; Coronavirus (COVID-19) booster vaccine - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
We have now invited all patients aged 16 years and over for their first vaccination. If you haven't received an invitation please do contact us to ensure we have your up to date contact details and book your appointment.
We have contacted parents/guardians of eligible children between the ages of 12 and 15. If you believe your child is eligible and you have not yet been contacted by the Surgery then please contact us.
If you have been invited but wish to decline the vaccination it is really important that you let us know so we can update your records, this saves us sending you any further reminders. You can email email@example.com or ring us.
We have now offered second dose appointments to all patients vaccinated at the Pickering Hub in January, February, March, April, May June and 10th and 17th July. If you were not able to attend your appointment then please contact us.
It is very helpful if we have up to date contact details including mobile telephone numbers and email addresses. Covid vaccines can be delivered at short notice and it is imperative that we contact patients as soon as possible once delivery is confirmed, by providing us with your mobile telephone or email address we can contact patients and provide them with the information needed in a quick and efficient manner. You can update your contact details using the link at the bottom of the home page.
Online consultations, sick note requests, general queries and prescription requests

You can now send a consultation, request for a sick note, repeat prescription request or general query via our online consultation service here.
